SUNY Adirondack President, Dr. Kristine Duffy, will read the Ogden Nash, Animal Poems at the March 16, 2025, GFS Afternoon of Piano Concert.

Our 2024-25 season of Music, Movement, and Memory continues on Sunday, March 16, at 4 pm. This concert takes place at the magnificent First Presbyterian Church in Glens Falls, and features Pianist Chris Reynolds, a highly esteemed opera coach and collaborative pianist, in a work by Paul Hindemith that is not often performed; "Four Temperaments!"

Then, the stage lights up with young, leading piano students from the Capital District Council for Young Musicians who will play musical chairs as they share the piano benches for a collaborative performance of Camille Saint-Saëns' beloved "Carnival of the Animals!"

Also joining the orchestra on stage will be SUNY Adirondack president, Dr. Kristine Duffy, reading Ogden Nash’s Animal Poems!

"I welcome the opportunity to join the extraordinary talent of the Glens Falls Symphony and especially to highlight our young talent in the region. The arts are critical in supporting a thriving community and reinforcing music’s power in our lives. I thank Maestro Peltz for the invitation." -

Kristine D. Duffy, Ed. D, President SUNY Adirondack Biography:

Dr. Duffy arrived at SUNY Adirondack in 2013 as its 7th President with significant experience in New York State higher education. Before her current position, she served for seven years as Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Services at Onondaga Community College and six years as Dean of Enrollment Management at Cayuga Community College. Before that, she held positions in high school counseling and college admissions in the Capital District.

Kris has assisted the college in securing and investing nearly $50 million in federal, state, county, and private gifts and grants to improve nursing, science, athletic, and student service-related facilities as well as improved direct support services to students.

Nearly 90,000 square feet of facilities have been constructed or renovated and the college’s state-of-the-art Culinary center and student-run restaurant, Seasoned, opened in downtown Glens Falls in September, 2018. This project was the first of Governor Cuomo’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative projects completed in New York State.

Kris is involved with the community through several board positions. She is currently the interim chairperson of the Warren County Economic Development Council, a director of Arrow Bank and Arrow Financial Corporation and the Upstate Agency. She serves as Vice President of the Adirondack Welcome Circle and is a member of the Rural Community College Alliance, and as past-President of the New York State Community College Association of Presidents.  She has also served on the boards of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Glens Falls YMCA.

Kris’s engagement in SUNY Adirondack’s community has led to new donors, partnerships, and increased recognition of the college’s tremendous impact in the region. She was honored with the Community Champion award from Hudson Headwaters Health Network in 2016.

Kris holds a B.S. in Business Administration from SUNY Brockport, and M.S. in Guidance and Counseling from Russell Sage College, and an Ed.D. in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher University.
