Yvonne Hansbrough

Principal Flute

Dr. Yvonne Chavez Hansbrough is Professor of Music at College of Saint Rose, and performs in ensembles, orchestras and as a soloist, nationally and internationally.

She completed her doctorate in Flute Performance from Florida State University in 1991 and has held teaching positions at UAlbany, New Mexico State University and Skidmore College. She directs the Saint Rose Camerata, as well as organizes flute festivals and master classes at Saint Rose.

In addition to her role with the Glens Falls Symphony, Dr. Hansbrough has performed with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Glimmerglass Opera, Huntsville Symphony, Albany Symphony among others.

Dr. Hansbrough is a strong advocate for new music, having premiered several works by living composers, such as Robert Baksa, Philip Sparke, and Frigyes Hidas.
