Jiuri Yu was born in Jilin, China, where she first began her violin studies at the early age of four. Ms. Yu more formally decided to pursue violin performance as a career at the age of ten, when she attended the Middle School musical program attached to the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. It was there that Ms. Yu studied under the tutelage of Ming Jin and XiaoShao Huang.
After completing her Freshman year in Beijing, Ms. Yu travelled to the United States and continued her conservatory life at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she received her Bachelor degree of violin performance (2015) and Masters degree (2017) under the guidance of Mr. Markus Placci. During that period, she participated in the Texas Musical Festival (2014), Round Top Festival (2015), Kent/ Blossom Music Festival (2016) and Festival Napa Valley Academy (2017)
Ms. Yu is currently a Teaching Assistant in the University of Massachusetts, she also teaches young children in the Key Notes Music School in Boston. As an active orchestral musician, Ms. Yu is a member of the Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra since 2017. She is currently playing in the South Carolina Philharmonic and The Cape Ann Orchestra as a section violinist.
