2019 Alfred Z. Solomon Coloquium Concert
The master of Baroque music, J.S. Bach, springs to life as the Symphony performs his Brandenburg Concerto No. 3. Beethoven’s deeply profound Grosse Fugue is complemented by the mature Bernstein’s Arias and Barcarolles, with Mezzo Soprano Vera Savage and Baritone Philip Lima as vocal soloists. Concert at Zankel Music Center, Skidmore College. An engaging panel discussion on Leonard Bernstein’s song-writing genius moderated by Music Director Charles Peltz will take place at 3pm, before the performance. Concert ticket includes admittance to panel discussion.
