Symphony Lounge at the Queensbury Hotel

Back by popular demand, our Symphony Lounge event brings music and music lovers together in a casual and fun atmosphere. Mezzo Soprano Vera Savage joins us for a couple of short performances in advance of her special guest appearance as soloist in our Nov. 4 concert, in Bernstein’s haunting Jeremiah Symphony. Ticket sales have closed for this event.

Reception begins directly following performance of opening concert on September 30, at approximately 6:15pm at the Park Theater, 14 Park Street, Glens Falls, NY. Concert One: The Prodigies

The 2018-19 season opening concert celebrates the infectious energy of youth with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1, partnered with a musical portrait of young love in Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from “West Side Story”. Also Overtures to Creatures of Prometheus and Candide.

Symphony Film Series-West Side Story

To complement our opening concert performance of Leonard Bernstein’s “Symphonic Dances from West Side Story”, enjoy a screening of the 1961 Academy Award-winning romantic musical film, West Side Story, featuring Bernstein’s famous score. Film will be shown in the Christine L. McDonald Community Room at the Crandall Public Library. Event is FREE and open to the public.
