Alyson Slack has worked as a violinist in Charleston, South Carolina; Washington, D.C.; Seoul, Korea; and now Upstate New York. In addition to playing with the Glens Falls Symphony, she is a founding member of the chamber group Lark Strings, frequently performs with the Catskill Symphony, and freelances for various opera and choral productions.
Alyson plays old-time Appalachian fiddle and performs with bluegrass and rock bands in her rural community of Cambridge, N.Y., where she also serves on the board of Hubbard Hall, an arts and education center.
On weekdays she is a vice president at Empire State Development, where she focuses on advancing New York State’s innovation economy through technology-led economic growth. In her spare time, she’s an avid whitewater kayaker.
